Hey Gerry - Fair points all around and thank you for sharing. I often prefer dissent over agreement since I learn more that way.

I don't disagree that women communicate about products, services, etc. with each other than men do. I suppose my thought (once again, simply an opinion based upon conjecture with no data to support it) is that the volume of word-of-mouth amongst women might dilute its value, while the rarity of that type of communication amongst men might make each instance more valuable. I can assure you that, regardless of my opinion on this, I wouldn't build a campaign based upon this assertion -- simply a thought experiment.

I like the Women's Advisory Board concept and would be interested in discussing it further. I'm (obviously) not the expert in this field, so every little bit helps.

Interesting theories, but I disagree. Women communicate much more than men, about products, services, challenges, children and their lives. I do agree, however, that word-of-mouth, while extremely effective with women, is only one of many avenues marketers need to use to reach women successully. With today's social media and women's busy lives, they don't have as much time to socialize, enjoy the mall experience as friends and just meet for coffee.
Finding a way to attract women is key to any companies survival since women spend 80%+ of every dollar spent. One great way to find the best way to reach, retain and sell your key target audience, is to create a Women's Advisory Board. Check out my website for more info on the incredible benefits of this. www.advisorylink-dfw.com
