Agreed with Meghan - there seems to be a movement towards mineral and natural based products, as well as biodegradable packaging. Sephora, The Body Shop and even some of the lower end places are all jumping on this bandwagon. Which is fine.

As for scary epilator, I can see how this would be frightening. It also does a rather frightening job. On the other hand, it needs to be done. And that's about all I can say on that.

Brave of you to step into Sephora. I have been there twice, and I find it cringe-worthy for the most part. It's probably because the various smells aggravate my allergies, and the too bright lights really annoy me. Or it could be because I don't bother with makeup all that much. My mother had to FORCE me to start wearing it when I got old enough.

Women curl their eyelashes because long, full, curled lashes make them look younger, healthier and more attractive.
I hate to say I told you so, but I knew that dragging you into Sephora would be a great learning experience for you. Let me know when you'd like to go back.

I probably didn't admit this at the time, but I the reason that I needed to stop in "quickly" was to pick up a bottle of $20 shower gel. I had to have this particular shower gel because I love the way it smells, but also because of the fact that isn't full of toxic chemicals, as most beauty products are.
This is one of the ways that Sephora has done extremely well in recent years. They are far ahead of other retailers in identifying and adapting to market trends. This is a great example of that. They've integrated tons of natural and chemical free alternatives into the store. One of my favorites was a line that featured biodegradable packaging in response to the green movement.
They've done an awesome job at highlighting these things on their website too. You can even shop "airline approved beauty" on Sephora.com for travel sized items to stash in your carry on. Why would I stop shopping there when they simultaneously make my life more beautiful and convenient?!
(I feel as though I should include my Sephora V.I.B. number along with this post since I was gushing so much. V.I.B stands for "very important beauty insider")

Anyway...you've only seen the epilator. You should hear what it sounds like. Then, you will REALLY be frightened.
